What is solar shading? Solar shading is the control of incoming light and heat (i.e. solar gain) to a measured level to improve comfort, reduce heat, reduce the load on air conditioning and mitigate energy consumption.
It is a balanced approach that maximises the benefits of incoming natural light, reducing the use of artificial light and energy usage and improving the working or living environment.

Depending on the colour and weave, the view through can vary from heavily diffused to more transparent, and the level of eye comfort can vary significantly. It is important to note that white and light-coloured solar shading fabrics can sometimes increase glare and may need to be avoided.
